Career Path:

Carpentry Apprenticeship with AGA

Jesse accepted a carpentry apprenticeship with Group Training Organisation AGA.  His host employer has been Casello Constructions working on large commercial sites (including John Holland sites) mostly in the city.  This has given JJ a variety of experience in tasks, a mixture of sites and projects. JJ’s work ethic was always outstanding and he enjoys the regular overtime opportunity and usually works 60 hour weeks.  JJ has already had employment offers to work on some of Melbourne’s biggest infrastructure projects when he completes his apprenticeship.  JJ is very happy in his new role.

Career Path:

Carpentry Apprenticeship with Lachlan Fleming Constructions

Josh has been loving going to work with Lachlan Fleming Constructions, a high end builder based in Woodend with a team of five staff.  Josh is learning all aspects of carpentry, working on new homes, renovations and extensions.  He has a 7.30am start and is on the tools all day, utilising and developing his skills.  Josh will complete his apprenticeship training through Kangan TAFE in Broadmeadows.

Career Path:

Apprentice Linesman with Powercor

Nick has been working for Powercor as an Apprentice Linesman for 6 months and is loving it.  The company looks after him very well.  Nick is required to attend trade school in one week blocks in Chadstone.  He assists with fixing faults, working on electrical shutdowns and with low voltage tasks.  During live electrical work, Nick assists the tradesman with preparation tasks.  Nick enjoys the variety of working at different locations, different conditions and tasks every day.

Career Path:

Electrical Apprenticeship with CPT Communications

Brad completed an Engineering Pre-Apprenticeship and FastTrack at Harvester then went on to complete a second Pre-Apprenticeship in Electrical at Victoria University.  Brad is very happy with the variety of domestic work he is experiencing with CPT including rough ins, running mains, handovers, installing appliances, wiring townhouse blocks, working on the truck and excavator, etc.  Work is very busy and Brad looks forward to starting at VU TAFE shortly.

Career Path:

Plumbing Apprenticeship with Chadoak

Ruby finished at HTC at the end of 2019, completing her Certificate II in Plumbing. She is now working through her 1st year apprenticeship in plumbing with Chadoak, where she is already gaining a wealth of knowledge and loving the work she’s doing.

Career Path:

Plumbing Apprenticeship with Hrastov Plumbing Services

Jayden enjoys working in the domestic plumbing industry and already has experience on new houses, renovations, fit offs, some industrial work and maintenance.  He loves the variety of work and the skills he is obtaining.  He is very grateful that the company currently has lots of work and looks after him.  Jayden is completing his TAFE at Victoria University in block release mode.

Career Path:

Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship with NJ Engineering through ATEL Group Trainer

Nolan is enjoying the variety and precision of work.  Nolan attends Kangan TAFE once per week and due to gaining his pre-apprenticeship with Peter Michelini, Nolan is the only student in the class who is working on the machinery at work, whilst the others are learning about hand tools.  Nolan’s group training organisation, ATEL, have been checking in every month to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce.  Nolan is adapting to the new early routine and says about his work that he is “loving it”.

Career Path:

Electrical Apprenticeship with Westwire Electrics

Kyle enjoys specialising in and learning about the Solar Energy industry in his new role.  Kyle is also looking forward to experiencing commercial solar, domestic electrical and commercial electrical work also whilst at Westwire.  Work is throughout the metropolitan western and northern suburbs and as far as Ballarat.  Kyle is happy in his Electrical Apprenticeship at Westwire.

Career Path:

Dual Engineering Apprenticeships at Bell Environmental

Ryan secured his apprenticeship through his SWL placement and was offered the choice of several different apprenticeships, he has chosen Auto Electrician and will select another Engineering trade to gain dual apprenticeships in 5 years through Kangan TAFE.  Ryan is up at 4am for his 6am start every day which he is getting used to.  Work is flat out but Ryan is loving it “I could not have asked for a better place to work”.
