Certificate II in Electrotechnology Studies (Pre-vocational)
Harvester’s Electrotechnology program is a cutting edge course designed to equip students with superior skills in Electrotechnology and grant entry into a career in the electrical trades.
For entrants wishing to prepare themselves to gain a traineeship, apprenticeship or other employment in the Electrotechnology industry, the course provides an overview of the industry, employment opportunities and the training pathways available. It also includes training in the basic fundamentals of electrical, telecommunication, refrigeration and air conditioning systems as well as workshop experience in fabrication and assembly techniques, wiring, cabling, basic installation skills and use of test equipment. Workplace safety and first aid training are also included.
The target audience for 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) are full time internal students from Harvester Technical College (HTC). Students are mixed in both gender and nationality and approximately range from schooling years 11 to 12 (15 – 18yrs of age).
Overview: 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) has between 394-474 nominal hours. The qualification consists of 13 core units/modules which total 354 hours and minimum of 2 elective units/modules to make up 40-120 hours. The full-time program at HTC has 414 hours and is delivered and taught across 1 whole school year.
Delivery method: Delivered across 1 full school year, 36 weeks totalling 420hrs (50mins x 14sessions x 36 weeks = 25,200mins or 420hours).
Teaching method: Students are taught across the whole school year consisting of face to face teaching and practical workshop activities, blended delivery via the Energyspace LMS which contains online learning activities and assessment tools.
Pathways: The aim of this course is to provide pre-employment training and a pathway into a range of Certificate III qualifications relating to the Electrotechnology industry.
