Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship)
Harvester’s Plumbing program is an innovative and rich course designed to equip students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to enter the Plumbing industry.
This course will prepare graduates with the skills and knowledge for entry level into an apprenticeship (Certificate III) within the plumbing industry, this course has a range of units that introduce the learner to basic skills and knowledge that underpin the Certificate III in Plumbing. This course aims to give participants the skills and knowledge to develop informed pathways regarding the range of opportunities and streams in the plumbing industry before entering a plumbing apprenticeship.
The target audience for 22304VIC Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) are internal students from Harvester Technical College (HTC). Students are mixed in both gender and nationality and approximately range from schooling years 11 to 12 (16 – 18yrs of age).
Overview: 22304VIC Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) has 488 hours nominal hours. The qualification consists of 19 core units/modules. The full-time program is delivered and taught across 1 whole school year.
Delivery method: Students are taught across the whole school year (Self Paced = 75hrs; Training = 311hrs, Assessment = 88hrs) consisting of face to face teaching and practical workshop activities.
Teaching method: All delivery is via the exposition teaching strategy / style (lecture – demonstrate model).
Pathways: This is an entry level qualification and is a pathway to the CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing Apprenticeship. Credit transfer is available for any units of competency that are in another qualification. This allows for employment as a plumbing apprentice in the domestic or commercial/industrial sectors.
